The 2022 Jeffrey S. Moorad Sports Law Journal Symposium will explore these issues and the changes we have seen in sports activities in the course of the age of the empowered athlete. For its second annual symposium, the Clinic for Asylum, Refugee and Emigrant Services will discover abolition as the path to immigrant justice. As immigration detention and deportation proceed to perpetuate world inequality, entrenched colonialism, and racial injustice, a motion to abolish ICE and shift government resources to housing, health care, and education continues to grow. The symposium will concentrate on organizing efforts to finish immigration enforcement and detention, the intersection of racial justice and abolitionist actions, and lessons realized in abolitionist work past the immigrant rights motion.
